2012 Kid’s Fishing Derby

CALHOUN FALLS, S.C.—About 150 youngsters and their mothers and fathers attended the 24th Yearly Kid’s Fishing Derby at Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake on May possibly 12, 2012. The little ones fished in a netted place at the Calhoun Falls Financial institution Fishing Location, which was stocked with 1,300 pounds of catfish. After a couple of hours of fishing, the Corps of Engineers and the Georgia Department of Normal Resources hosted a water safety plan to educate little ones and dad and mom about daily life jackets and safe boating. A cost-free lunch was supplied for youngsters courtesy of a newly-formed group underneath the Calhoun Falls Chamber of Commerce referred to as the Lake Russell Recreation and Tourism Coalition. Other partnering organizations integrated the Outdoor Dream Foundation of Anderson, S.C., the Southeastern Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Faith Hunters for Youth.
